GPS Tracking Capabilities

 Michigan International Speedway GPS Tracking technolgoy is under development.

     A tracking system is being developed for an advanced, web-based platform which tracks vehicles via GPS-enabled mobile devices. The application, a near real-time geo-spatial tracking system, allows users to track vehicle locations via cellular GPS technology in conjunction with internet server–based communication protocols.

     Additionally, the developing technology integrates seamlessly with a web mapping component that is available for users to view and track vehicle locations in near real-time. The developing technology allows users to pin-point vehicle locations as well as generating data-rich reports and summaries (time, lat/long, speed, etc.) for vehicles being tracked. If implemented the application being developed will serve to provide MIS track users with powerful, robust, and efficient tracking methods to supplement onsite research and development efforts and activities.
